Interests:
- Cu-64-based PET radiopharmaceuticals for
measuring multidrug-resistance.Ê The focus of this project is the
synthesis of new copper ligands that can be used to prepare Cu-64
complexes with biological properties similar to those of existing
single-photon compounds that are substrates for Pgp and MRP1, the
proteins responsible for multidrug resistance.Ê The project involves the
synthesis and characterization of new ligands, the synthesis and
characterization of the non-radioactive and Cu-64 complexes, and the
measurement of the biological properties of the Cu-64 complexes in vitro
and in vivo.
-
Evaluation of new radiopharmaceuticals for measuring response to anti angiogenesis therapy. The focus of this project is the evaluation, in animal models, of how the tumor uptake of radiopharmaceuticals that target receptors, such as avb3, which are expressed in neovasculature, changes in response to anti-angiogenesis therapy. These changes would provide a direct way to measure clinical response to new anti-angiogenesis agents.
