Mail Reflectors
  • Nucmed Mail Reflector : Nuclear Medicine Mailing list is configured to use Mailman on space provided by the Advanced Imaging Laboratory of the Robarts Research Institute located in London, Ontario, Canada.  This Nuclear Medicine Mailing list (founded by Trevor Cradduck) was located at the LARG*net server for many years.
  • PET Mail Reflector : PET Mail provides news and information of interest to the PET (Positron Emission Tomography) imaging community.
  • smallPET: See PET_Mail reflector instruction, but subsitute "smallpet" for "pet_mail".
  • DOSE-NET : Radiation Internal Dose Information Center
  • RADSAFE Internet Mailing List : The Radiation Safety Distribution list is an electronic mailing list for Health Physicists, Medical Physicists, Radiological Engineers and others who have a professional interest in matters related to Radiation Protection.
  • Molecular-imaging mailing list is designed to help people working in the field of molecular imaging to better communicate. To subscribe send an e-mail to: majordomo@listserv.crump.ucla.edu . In the body of the e-mail place "subscribe molecular-imaging". Do not worry about the subject heading.

NIH Image and ImageJ
  • ImageJ is an incredibly powerful, easily extensible, image-processing program based on NIH Image written by Wayne Rasband. ImageJ is written in Java and runs "everywhere" as either and application or an applet. ImageJ has a well-designed and powerful API. ImageJ is written using the Java 1.1 which is widely supported including most browsers.
  • NIH Image is an exceptionally useful Macintosh image display package that reads TIFF or DICOM (yuck!) format.
  • ImagePC is a port of NIH Image to the PC from Scion Corporation .
  • Mark D. Wittry, has modified NIH Image for Nuclear Medicine which can be obtained from the Division of Nuclear Medicine at St. Louis University School of Medicine . Try links NucMed_Image / Abstract / MacInPET. If not available, try the cached version at the SNM Computer and Instrumentation Council site. This version supports importation of vendor data into TIFF format and provides a variety of routines that will work on individual images or stacks of images. Questions or suggestions regarding this application may be sent to Mark D. Wittry, MD at wittry@nucmed.sluh.edu .

OSIRIS
OSIRIS, an image display package, was developed as part of the Geneva PACS project. OSIRIS runs on UNIX X/window, Macintosh, Windows 95, and Windows NT. OSIRIS software can be obtained free of charge from the Digital Imaging Unit of University Hospital of Geneva.

Other Software
  • MRIcro "MRIcro allows Windows PCs to view Analyze format brain images. Specifically, this software is designed to complement SPM for Windows (software which allows neuroimagers to normalise and analyse MRI, fMRI and PET images). MRIcro allows efficient viewing and exporting of brain images. In addition, it allows neuropsychologists to identify regions of interest (ROIs, e.g. lesions).  MRIcro can create Analyze format headers for exporting brain images to other platforms."
  • GAMMAPC GAMMAVIEW : Nuclear Medicine viewing software on Windows.
  • GraphicConverter : Macintosh program which supports DICOM.
  • Na Homolce Hospital software : PET viewing and coregistration.
  • PETviewer : reads CTI format PET data.
  • 3DVIEWNIX, Snark93, and EVAL3DPET : Univesity of Pennsylvania Health System, Medical Image Processing Group.
