Correction for scatter - Bergstr…m method.

• Klein-Nishina formula (often called Model-based scatter correction) the best - but hard to do. Use it only when the scatter fraction is very large.

• Bergstr…m method - estimate the scatter by ãsmearing outä the image - calibrate the scatter estimate using phantom studies. Good enough when the scatter fraction < 20-25%

• Tail fitting - fit a curve to the scatter outside the patient - RISKY - what happens for large patients?
