Detecting 511 keV photons with a regular Gamma camera

• Need to use ultra-high energy collimators (thick and heavy) - and still you get septal penetration

• Many photons pass through 3/8ä NaI detector (sensitivity low)

• Many photons scatter in the detector (canāt use energy window to distinguish scatter in object)

• Net result: poor images
